We are Wesley

Looking for a place to grow your faith in college? A place where Christian community intertwines beautifully with daily life? Where people know not just your name, but also your cares, your struggles, and your joys?

Then you belong at Wesley.

The Wesley Foundation at Texas A&M is the United Methodist Student Center which serves the Texas A&M and Blinn College campuses in the Bryan-College Station area.  We seek to serve as an extension of the church as a whole, meeting the unique needs of college students.  We are affiliated with the United Methodist Church, but students from all backgrounds are welcome.

At Wesley, we spend a lot of time together.

We worship together - responding to the love shown to us by God through singing, liturgy, and sermon.

We play together - between road trips, dances, games, and general frivolity,
we take the time to form deep friendships.

We study together - in the midst of studying for classes, we make time for studying scripture with nearly
a dozen different Bible studies each week.

We serve together - with service projects locally, out of state, and out of country,
we work to be the hands and feet of Christ in our world.

what we believe

As United Methodists, our beliefs can be summed up by the historic Nicene Creed:

"We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic* and apostolic church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

* "catholic" meaning universal

weekly ministries

Every week we offer two evening worship services - Sundays at 7:00pm and Wednesdays at 8:00pm. These services blend traditional and contemporary styles of music and liturgy for a time to relax and worship God. Our campus minister gives the sermon on Sunday nights and students speak on Wednesdays.
Dinner is served for $3 before each of these services - 6pm on Sundays and 7pm on Wednesdays.

bible studies

Lunch Bible Studies

Come eat a hot lunch prepared by your fellow students ($3) and participate in a Bible study also led by a student.  We meet every weekday from 12:30-1:30pm in the Wesley Fellowship Hall.

Men's and Women's Bible Studies

Each Monday at 7:00pm, the men and the women meet separately for their own Bible study. These are generally topical studies about how our Christian faith relates to our lives in college.
Join us before these Bible studies for Supper Club, where we leave the Wesley building at 5:15pm and go to a local restaurant for dinner!

Freshman Bible Study

This Bible study is just for freshmen!  Led by upperclassmen, topics are chosen to highlight issues related to freshmen life.
Tuesdays 7:00pm

Small Group Bible Studies

Small groups are a chance to build your own Bible study!  Join a small group or start your own!

sunday school

Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30am for College Sunday School! We sing songs and have a discussion based lesson each week, led by our campus minister. Donuts and kolaches provided!

music ministries

Crossbound Choir

The Crossbound Choir is the student choir at the Wesley Foundation.  This non-audition choir travels to area churches several times a semester to share the love of Christ through music to other congregations.  We also sing for some Wesley worship services, and we take a week-long choir tour once a year!  Join us for rehearsal Wednesdays at 6:00pm!

praise bands

Wesley has three praise bands whose mission is to lead our fellow students in worship through song.  We also periodically travel to area churches to lead worship with other congregations.  We also have a traveling bluegrass band!  Ask a staff member how to join a band!

The John Wesley Ramblers

Wesley has a bluegrass band! We travel to area churches playing gospel music! Interested in having us play at your church? Contact Ben Sinclair! Our new CD, Bluegrass Strangely Warmed, is available for sale! Email to order. Check out a sample below!
