looking ahead

Our Freshmen Leadership Team is planning a WESLEY LOCK-IN overnight March 3-4!  This will include a fun activity around town (probably Jumping World or Broom Ball at the ice rink) and staying the night at FUMC Bryan.  Cost is $20

Join us March 4th at 1:00pm to go do some more work at LEE CHAPEL UMC!  We started this project last semester to help out a local church with some building repairs, and now we're going to finish up!

Wesley will be taking a SPRING BREAK ROAD TRIP March 11-16!  Come with us and do some exploring and sight-seeing in northeast Texas and Arkansas!  Highlights will include a visit to "The Roost" (Sharon's family cabin and land), nature-seeing in Arkansas, the "Wal-Mart Museum", and time with the University of Arkansas Wesley Foundation!  Talk to Ben for more info!

WE'RE GOING TO BELIZE!  May 13-21, join us on our mission trip to Belize!  We will be going to the town of Corozal and working at the Methodist school there - a school we have been working at for the past 25 years!  We will do some maintenance work on the school building as well as play, sing, and interact with the students at the school.  To end the trip, we will take a visit to San Pedro for some beach and snorkeling time!  Cost is approximately $1600.  Talk to Max for more info!

We are Wesley

Looking for a place to grow your faith in college? A place where Christian community intertwines beautifully with daily life? Where people know not just your name, but also your cares, your struggles, and your joys?

Then you belong at Wesley.

The Wesley Foundation at Texas A&M is the United Methodist Student Center which serves the Texas A&M and Blinn College campuses in the Bryan-College Station area.  We seek to serve as an extension of the church as a whole, meeting the unique needs of college students.  We are affiliated with the United Methodist Church, but students from all backgrounds are welcome.

At Wesley, we spend a lot of time together.

We worship together - responding to the love shown to us by God through singing, liturgy, and sermon.

We play together - between road trips, dances, games, and general frivolity,
we take the time to form deep friendships.

We study together - in the midst of studying for classes, we make time for studying scripture with nearly
a dozen different Bible studies each week.

We serve together - with service projects locally, out of state, and out of country,
we work to be the hands and feet of Christ in our world.

what we believe

As United Methodists, our beliefs can be summed up by the historic Nicene Creed:

"We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic* and apostolic church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen."

* "catholic" meaning universal

weekly ministries

WORSHIP

Every week we offer two evening worship services - Sundays and Wednesdays at 7:00pm. These services blend traditional and contemporary styles of music and liturgy for a time to relax and worship God. Our campus minister gives the sermon on Sunday nights and students speak on Wednesdays.
Dinner is served at 6:00pm for $3 before each of these services.

bible studies

Lunch Bible Studies

Come eat a hot lunch prepared by your fellow students ($3) and participate in a Bible study also led by a student.  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday - 12:30-1:30pm in the Wesley Fellowship Hall.  Join us Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00pm in the upper level food court in the MSC for our on-campus lunch Bible study!

Men's and Women's Bible Studies

Each Monday at 7:00pm, the men and the women meet separately for their own Bible study. These are generally topical studies about how our Christian faith relates to our lives in college.
Join us before these Bible studies for Supper Club, where we leave the Wesley building at 5:15pm and go to a local restaurant for dinner!

Freshman Bible Study

This Bible study is just for freshmen!  Led by upperclassmen, topics are chosen to highlight issues related to freshmen life.
Tuesdays 7:00pm

Small Group Bible Studies

Small groups are a chance to build your own Bible study!  Join a small group or start your own!

sunday school

Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30am for College Sunday School! We sing songs and have a discussion based lesson each week, led by our campus minister. Donuts and kolaches provided!

music ministries

Crossbound Choir

The Crossbound Choir is the student choir at the Wesley Foundation.  This non-audition choir travels to area churches several times a semester to share the love of Christ through music to other congregations.  We also sing for some Wesley worship services, and we take a week-long choir tour once a year!  Join us for rehearsal Sundays at 4:45pm!

praise bands

Wesley has three praise bands whose mission is to lead our fellow students in worship through song.  We also periodically travel to area churches to lead worship with other congregations.  Ask a staff member how to join a band!
