Find a little joy

Verses: Zechariah 9:9

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Devotion:

Today’s verse tells us to rejoice. Why? Because Jesus’ righteousness has led to our salvation. Imagine how happy you’d be if someone just came in and said, “What’s your biggest homework assignment/responsibility? Ok, boom, I got that.” That’s basically what Jesus did. He took our biggest issue and solved it for us. That’s something to be excited and rejoice about. Whatever stresses we have, that’s a freeing feeling and worth taking time to be grateful and happy for. Plus he’s the kind of person that associates with cute animals. That’s a pretty exciting leader. Who wouldn’t want a pastor to bring their puppy to worship or ride in on llama? So take some time to remember the joy we have today because of Jesus, who came down to our level and humbly got on a donkey.
