Howdy Week is Texas A&M’s official welcome week, and Wesley has lots of fun events planned to help you get plugged in! All events start at the Wesley building: 201 Tauber St. on Northgate.
Wednesday 8/20: Wesley Soft Open
Overwhelmed by all the big hype of move-in week? Come slow down and make friends at this intentionally chill time at Wesley. We’ll have a free dinner at 6pm, a chill worship service at 7pm, and some just-for-fun sports at 8pm.
Thursday 8/21: Pie Prep Day
Ok this isn’t *technically* a Howdy Week event, but let’s be real, you’re digging through out website - you’re interested in the behind-the-scenes stuff. Come help bake pies in preparation for Pie Party (the actual Howdy Week event)! Meet at Wesley at 10am, we’ll be baking till around noon, then go out to lunch together! Best friends are made in the kitchen!
Friday 8/22: PIE PARTY
Our biggest Howdy Week event! Come get a free slice of pie and check out our open house! Get a tour of the building, meet student leaders, and learn about the many different ministry offerings of Wesley! Pie is served 4:30pm-5:30pm. Rumor has it we’ll end up at Whataburger afterwards…
Saturday 8/23: Service Day
Serving others is such a cool thing. It’s a way we live out our faith by showing love to people, and it’s a fun way to make friends as we serve together! Meet at Wesley at 9am - we’ll get on the bus and head to Gause, TX where we will help the local Methodist church clean up litter around their town. Then the church will treat us to lunch and a pool party! Wear work clothes and bring your swim suit to change into (and a towel)! We’ll return to Wesley around 4pm.
Sunday 8/24: Normal Dinner and Worship
See what Wesley is like every Sunday night! $2 dinner at 6pm, student-led worship at 7pm, games at 8pm!
Monday 8/25: Freshman Bible Study
Kick off the first week of class with our first Freshman Bible Study - a small group just for Freshmen! A group will meet at the Sbisa Underground at 6pm to pick up some dinner, then people will bring food back to the Wesley Fellowship Hall to eat together. Then at 7pm, we’ll have a time of Bible study, small group questions, checking in on each other, and praying together. Come meet your fellow freshmen!
